Where To Go On Holiday In Fiji

Sun seekers ahoy! If you’re after a slice of sun, sea and sand then look no further than Fiji with its alluring blue sea, pristine white sand and guaranteed sunshine – a true sun worshiper’s paradise!

For many the journey begins on the arrestingly beautiful Mamanuca islands. Having been the set for many a film, this is what many commonly associate with Fiji – palm fringed beaches, barrier reef and wall-to-wall sunshine. Equally idyllic are the islands of Yasawa where empty beaches, staggering volcanic landscapes and crystal clear waters greet holidaymakers – the ideal location for a honeymoon or a once in a lifetime relaxing getaway.

However do not overlook Fiji’s two main islands; Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. The former is home to the capital of Suva, a city rich in culture and heritage, lined with picture perfect colonial buildings and the beautiful Colo-l-Suva Forest Park. The city has a relaxed outlook on life, though if you’re looking for adventure you’ll find this too with bushwalking, rafting and canoeing tours all available. If visiting in July or August, be sure to check out the mesmerising South Indian Fire Walking Festival held at the Mariamma Temple.

If you’re looking for a little more in the way of wilderness, then consider Vanua Levu where the island is dominated by coconut and sugar-cane plantations, rainforests and a series of beaches only accessible by boat. Whilst on the island be sure to take a dive off Savusavu and discover the colourful corals and enormity of the sea life.
